736 mi today...startng in Birmingham, traversing Mississippi, the corner of Tennessee, crossing Arkansas and ending just west of Oklahoma City, OK.
Nice weather for a drive and stayed on US 78 from Birmingham to Memphis,
Then I-40 from Arkansas onward..

If this keeps up I will need to find someplace to go or some far and distant relative to visit. Enjoy MJones!

I know your roads very well, having had a house in OKC and Santa Barbara for many years. I got to know every premium fuel stop from one end of Route 66 to the other. Take a break in Santa Rosa, NM and check out the Blue Hole. South of I40 and a neat place to see. A natural artesian well that feeds the Pecos River.

Leaving for Vegas in 2 weeks from Chicago. I don't expect to average only 70 mph as noted above, but my goal is to complete the trip in less than 20 hours, which would be second to my best time for that trip. Nothing more relaxing than a good long road trip.
