It's made by Mequires--pretty widely available. It helps some, but don't expect a miracle.

I've had the same soft-glass problem with my 2 previous BMW's and now the Porsche.
My wife's 2002 Isuzu Axiom's windshield is in better condition.
So is my 1999 Chevy S10 though there is one small crack.

This is the safest glass in the world and that is why Porsche uses it. It is soft and drives us nuts but there is a reason for it. I just don't think it is safe when you can't see thru it! Porsche must think we are smart enuf to change it out when it gets bad.

I just had my windshield replaced at 16k miles. I asked the dealer what installer he recommended and then made a claim on my State Farm policy for a tiny crack in the corner of the windshield. My comprehensive deductible is $100, so I'm out the $100 but I have a new Porsche factory windshield. Life is good.

I got nailed by a brick shard after leaving the DMV--license renewal. I was scared at first, then thought too bad it didn't break so I'd have to replace it. Oh, and don't even get me started on the deralicts hanging around that place.
You should have seen my BMW's windshield at 100,000 miles! The soft glass just won't crack and run the way harder glass formulas in other makes do. A friend has a new Honda which took a stone to the windshield on the way home from delivery - crack and run within one week. My BMW replacement windshield has 50,000 miles on it now. Pitted but no crack. Anyone have experience with a "worn-out" windshield replacement covered by insurance?

I wonder if we use water instead of Windex, Invisible Glass or whatever would help as those chemical could harm the glass.

Sure thing. As I said, it won't do a whole lot, but can, with a lot of elbow grease clear, things a bit. Might delay having to get a new one?

Funny, my 83' ford has hard glass, and it's been on the car for almost 24 years... one big nasty chip, got that filled however.
I don't know, maybe they don't build them like they used to.
