Love the AWE.

Would recommend

AWE
OEM Sport Exhaust
Fabspeed

In that order.

I, too, have a full AWE exhaust system. The car is slightly louder at low rpm, with a note that is throatier than stock, but retains the characteristic Porsche sound. A deep growl when you get into the throttle hard and it screams at 5000+ rpm. Makes power, with a strong top end charge.

I am with you guys - I too have the full AWE system (headers, cats mufflers) along with the GIAC and Evo intake the sound is amazing. Its very Porsche-like just amplified. I also ran a before and after dyno and the setup delivered about 40 horses. AWE rocks!

Default Exhaust Sampler

Got a huge favor to ask...

Anyone in the Pasadena, Glendale area with a 997 with either a Fabspeed, AWE or PSE exhaust.

I am looking to change my exhaust and have almost reached the point of delerium. Rennlist and 6 speedonline have been great, but I still have no idea what exhaust to go with.
I just want to hear it live. Preferable all in 1 setting.
I would even be willing to buy a cup of Starbucks for the effort.

If anyone is in the area please reply,
Im looking for the following systems.
-Fabspeed
-AWE
-PSE

narbo - can't help you with the AWE or Fabspeed, but you should be able to stop by your dealer and hear a car with PSE. Suggest you listen to one with a few miles on it. Your dealer may also have installed AWE or Fabspeed and assist with putting you in touch with someone.

Default PSE

Ok , stopped by a dealership that had a C2 with the PSE. it sounded great.

i like the fact that I can turn it on & off.

But they quoted me $3K installed?
is that correct?

the PSE sells for about $1800, the rest must be labor. Sounds a bit high but very possible since the switch install is time consuming

That is about what I was quoted to add PSE to a car already in stock. PSE list's $2400 and some dealers will discount it down to around $1800-1900 but the labor to hook it all up takes about all day long so it is quite expensive to do after the fact. I was going to get PSE and do the always on mod but after finding out the price and that PSE weights more than the stock mufflers I went with the simple solution...Fabspeed...great sound, possible more power, and much lighter weight.

Went to 4 dealerships and was quoted $2,800 - $3,200 for PSE install. Suncoast has PSE parts for around $1,800. Even buying it and having install completed by a loacal shop was still going to be $2,600. Went with Fabspeed and am very happy.

Had an interesting conversation with a dealer this morning that said the installed price of the Porsche Sport Exhaust was $3,000 with the switch, but $2,300 without it (installed as always on). Apparently it takes 8 hours to install the switch. Interesting option since people seem to always want to unplug the switch anyways. This dealer also said that they carry Fabspeed, AWE, and Tubi as well.

Teddy Bear - I live in Somerset, NJ and have an 06 997S and would be interested in meeting up with you and Bob in NY to hear your exhaust as well. If there is one thing I am disappointed with, it is the stock exhaust.
