Fabspeed on a 997

Narbo, I do not think AWE sounds anything like the PSE. The PSE is louder and a overall different tone...not bad but not like PSE or Fabspeed or Tubi...they all have different harmonic charactoristics.

Just my .02 ...
This was a pretty long thread, but I'll try to add my .02 to the fray. FWIW.
I have Fabspeeds on my 993 C4S and it is a beautiful piece of work. I like the tips as well. But, there IS some resonance in the cabin at the 2000-2800 rpm range that we all drive in with the spouse/girl friend/SigO on Sundays. They sound much nicer than stock (throatier?) at idle and when you get on it ... well, it's pretty great IMO. I do have the Porsche Motor Sound deal as well on the car and it does sound terrific at FOT.
Last week, I drove a 997 C2S with the PSE. There's a nice idle rumble which is similar, but lower on the bass scale than my 993 Fabspeed. And, it sounded nice (with the windows down) at FOT ... or pretty near FOT. I did not notice any resonance in the cabin as I tooled around town.
Based on this somewhat disjointed experience, I'd say that the PSEs are better than the Fabspeeds at the dreaded 2500+ rpm zone. But, they are both very nice pieces and add to the experience of driving the P-cars. I would not trade out my Fabspeeds on my 993.
If I were gonna add some somewhat expensive exhausts to my car, I'd listen to the one's I was considering personally before plunking down some USDs. I've not done this, but .... I was lucky.

Bagger, gotta agree but in my c2s cab I only get the drone at around 1900-2200rpm and then at 2300 it is less of a drone and then pretty much gone by 25-2600rpm. With the top down there is no drone at all. I was going to go with the PSE but the dang thing weights a ton! AWE and/or Fabspeed are the 2 I'd go with or if you have extra deep pockets Tubi is nice but not as deep sounding from what I hear as Fab and AWE. The Fab and AWE mufflers look very simular.

Otherwise it's just good money waiting to be poorly spent.
