Default NO More Option XCZ Sport Shifter

Option XCZ – Sport Shifter, is no longer available for factory installation.

If you have a car ordered that is still in a changable status, Option XCZ will be deleated from your order.

No reason given

Sport Shifter will continue to be available through Tequipment.

PAG MFG cost reduction/cost savings.

Not enough production orders to justify internal charges (documentation, tracking, parts inventory, etc).
They will make more $$ offering it thru Tequipment.

Factory options are continuously reviewed for such cost savings.

That's ok. The stock shifter feels nice.

Or save $100's and buy the B&M instead, here.

Hmmm...I doubt that's it. There are many items on the 997 option sheet that are a lot less popular and are a lot less profitable...the various small and obscure leather covered items come to mind...

My guess is that it's too stiff/notchy for NA buyers; either dealers are complaining that customers won't buy cars configured with the option, or too many ordered cars are coming in for warranty work for stiff/notchy sport shifters.

Maybe it's standard now. TPMS+ XCZ = MSRP increase on Carrera S. Could it be? Maybe?

I really like the way you think! But I doubt it will be standard ; what are they going to take away next X51, sport seats???

Man.....I sure love my sport shifter. Too bad it's no longer an option.

By the way....did I tell you how much I love my sport shifter?

I have a turbo on order and after test driving the car yesterday (equipped with SS) I took it of my option list. Prefer the standard shifter. It's short enough but better yet , smooth as silk. That's what I want. Did not like the heavy notchy gear changes at all. Becomes tiresome after a while.

I know most prefer SS and I can understand to some degree but in every day traffic this is too much of a good thing to me.
