Yes, sort of. But your thread title is much more descriptive and - thus - better than the other one.

The best thing is there are only two screws attaching the front license plate bracket to the bumper instead of the current four screws. So in future there will be only two bumper holes to plug instead of four. Now that is progress. Bravo!

Actually I just finished putting my front plate on the car earlier tonight. The plate bracket on the current 997's mount with just two screws.

Notice the satellite radio ant on the coupe.
I don't like the nose. I'd rather have the third radiator, and may... that frontal depression just looks useless (in my opinion).

Good catch. Not sure if that's what it is. There's also an antenna on the right front fender and another one on the rear bumper near the right taillight. Those extra antennas could be for telemetry or test data transmission, which is what those green cables going inside the passenger side appear to be for.

Also in the front pic of the coupe, where it appears that the parking lights are taped over, it actually looks like the tape is covering the top portion of an enlarged radiator opening, a la the turbo's.

The rear wheels look like the TechArts, while the fronts seem to be the stock 18" 997 wheel.

The larger mirrors, which has been mentioned, are a positive change. I always thought ours were too small.

Why are you always so negative?

Good question, Ben.

I expect excellence. It was promised to me by Porsche, and when I don't get it I want Porsche (and everybody who may be interested) to know about it.

There are GOOD things about the car, but the boards are most always about problems and issues.

When Porsche goes around using major superlatives describing their intentions and their products AND charges top-dollar for their cars; why should we just go along with the obvious shortcomings and other more subtle BS?

For example: it bothers me when I think about the Navigation System. WTF shouldn't this system be THE BEST in any car on the road today? Insted it's mediocre and a PITA at times; sad because it would have been soooooo easy to have made it, easiest to use and among the finest in any car. However there's no problems charging us$2000 for the unit and us$500 for the CD!

Woaw. Any evidence to support your claim? High levels of customer dissatisfaction? Tons of complaints on this board? Dozens of negative articles in magazines and journals? I don't see any of this.

Nevermind, we posted at the same time. I still disagree.

Hopefully they read the boards.

I agree with MMD,that the 997 is marketings take on the 996. Technically, there is little improvement over the 996 except making the car more bling. Case in point:
1) return to "traditional porsche" headlamps
2) a "timer" in the middle of the dashboard
3) bliing quad mufflers
4) Pick-your-color brake calipers
5) 19" wheels - there is NO reason to have 19s on a car except to say you have 19s.
6) mediocre navigation (PCM) system

Aside from the 3.8 engine in the S.... the changes are almost all marketing driven. This was also the initial reviewers takes on the car.
