I'm getting about 18mpg with mixed city and freeway driving. I am a WOT addict so it would likely be a better result if I drove like I DIDN'T STEAL IT :-)

I average 21-22 MPG for my normal commute which is 8 miles of in town driving (25 - 30 MPH) and another 8 miles on the freeway at between 80 - 90 MPH. If I only drive in town then I typically get about 19 - 20 MPG, if I take a freeway trip and average 75 - 80 MPH I get about 27 MPG.

I'm avg. around 17.5mpg. That includes most city with some short trips on the highway(5-8miles). Does the mileage change after the motor really breaks in(5k to 10k)?

No change after 14K miles. A measly 16.5 mpg combined.

I'm singlehandedly supporting OPEC.

Boo,

As I recall you livew in the Chicago area as well and you and I have the same poor milage vs. some of these other dudes.

Do you think it's the gas and additives (EtOH) that are causing our poor showing?

BTW, your avatar. She's a very hot babe but I think there are better pictures of her than that. She almost looks like she's asking for the keys there. Of course if shes a very good girl, I might give them to her...

Now Mjones I just do not know how you do it. At 75mph on excellent smooth roads, I am lucky to get 24-25mph. The minute I speed up to 80 (or even 85) the mph rapidly drops. Getting 25.7 with average speed of 84 is amazing (were there tail winds or were you going down hill)? Or maybe it is the type of gas you use? The best we get on the west coast is 91 octane (10% ethanol or 15% MTBE) depending on the time of year. Also perhaps its a coupe/cab thing as well, as I frequently drive top down. Plus almost alwys the air is on (even with top down) which may affect the mph negatively.....

My Aircon is always on, I refuel with whatever is available when I stop.
Just hi-way crusing in 6th gear.
