Default pse fix pics

right side of engine compartment..you will see a black tube to the right and back of orange connector - it looks thicker at one end - pull it apart and insert white/black valve

Is this the best way to keep PSE on all the time? - The head Tech at suncoast porsche says it is. He says disconnecting the orange plug COULD cause CEL over time...Regardless - by doing this you wont have a disconnected wire in your engine compartment and it takes about 10 seconds if you wat to take it out and be able to control pse by electronics..I also find it interesting that when someone at renntech bought a pse and had it shipped to them it came with the white/black valve

Thanks for the pic. When (if) you return to "normal" do you just remove the device?

yes - just pop it out and reconnect the tube without the valve - takes 10 seconds

I talked to my dealership and they said waht I'm doing is fine. They said they've been seeing it for a few years (starting with the first hardwired 996's) and they've yet to see a car have any issues related to being disconnected full time.

Hi Jay:

PSE == Porsche Sport Exhaust, CEL == Check Engine Light.

Thanks Don....geez, shoulda guesses the CEL one...except my current P-cars don't have one.

I'm lurking to learn more as I'm about sold on the idea of a C4S next year for myself.

So...expect more noob questions (...unless it's 928 or 968 related )

Rob,

Did you ever find our what the part number is for thr black and white valve. Suncoast did a full PSE install on my car about three months ago. Buth I never recieved one of those black and white valves. I called them today to buy one. They said they would get back to me.

Do you still use the valve or disconnect the orange plug?

I disconnected my plug and I love it - with the PSE and X51 header combo. However I don't get the warm fuzzy's about leaving the plug disconnected.

I've seen this white/black device in previous posts on the PSE. I think it's listed in one of those threads, the part number that is. Search is your friend.

Anyway, I always have the PSE set to ON and PASM set to NORMAL. I like the quicker throttle responce AND the noise.

PSE--Porsche Sport Exhaust. That's something those people must be shipping with the PSE when an afterthought (not OEM installed).
