X51 impact on 0-60?
According to P's website, 997S is 4.6 0-60. I think they tend to be a little conservative.
Does anyone know what the equivalent time is for a 997S w/ X51? I have searched the site but can't seem to find an old thread with this info. Nor can I find it on the P website.
Thanks.

Yes, I've seen that number too and have always dismissed as a typo.

None I suppose. It just seems rather odd that no other published sources support that number.
Believe me - I would love to think it was true.

I have absolutely no doubt that one could get a 4.1 - 4.2 out of a C4S - but you'd need a new clutch in fairly quick order... Porsche is very conservative in their numbers, but I don't think that they are launching at 5000 RPM, either.
Wheel hop is bad, bad, bad... and I'm sure that R&T's car was hopping like a bunny.
Now, if Sport Chrono actually had an autostart / autostop function, I could verify what the seat of my pants is telling me. Maybe I need my #2 kid in the car with a stopwatch? <g>

i wish sports chrono has auto stop/start - that would be super cool
i dont want to spend $200 on a gtech just to do a few 0-60 and 1/4 mile runs...after a few days i probbaly would never use it again

Thanks for the edification, gpjli2 - I didn't read the original article.
So, R&T must have had the stars aligned that day, eh?
1.) Excellent pilot,
2.) Perfect road surface,
3.) Car's output at the high end of the build range.
It's still amazing - 3.9! These cars never cease to blow me away... <g>
