I've had work done on Porsche's at both Avio and Golden Hammer and they are both outstanding shops. You will be fine at either one.

Default Both great..

I had an estimate done at both Avio and Golden Hammer for my 911.
Both came highly recommended.
It's over at Golden Hammer now getting fixed. Rick is great and hopefully it will be done in a few more weeks!
Either place is a good choice.

Well, since you asked...I needed some work done on my M3, and Avio was highly recommended. Got estimates from all over town, and was most impressed with their work on other cars and their attention to detail. For instance, I was trying to preserve as much original paint as possible, and they were totally on the same page...where other high-end shops wanted to spray an entire panel because it's easier, Avio said they'd blend just a corner of it. You really had to see the damage to understand.

I didn't actually use them, but wish I had. I used Brace's, a small shop in Marina del Rey that specialized in restoring old Porsches (including some work on Jerry's cars, etc.). They've been highly recommended by people I know in the Porsche community for decades. However, there was a ton of land development going on around the shop, and the car came back with dust throughout the paintwork. Since then they lost their lease due to said development and closed up shop.

I had a very bad experience with Golden Hammer about 10 years ago...they botched a very small job on a white car twice...couldn't have been easier, but they made it worse and had a crappy attitude...ended up going somewhere else to get it done right. But that was a long time ago. Personally I'll never go back, but they do have a decent reputation.

Had a buddy w/ a 575 Maranello who had a scuff on the bumper going to the front quarter panel. He went with Premier and the paint supposedly matched perfectly.
