Changing C4S order
As some may know I have had a MY07 C4S in Meteor/Terra on order for quite some time. My dealer has informed me that the my order would go down for their September allocation and would mean a November delivery. That wouldn't be so bad... but the real clanger is that porsche have not stated when Meteor would be in production. One thing is for sure... Meteor Grey will not be an option on the first few batches of the 2007 cars and it could be a few months before its available. For me thats a problem.
So if I want a 2007 car I have to chose a different colour and the only one I would want is Seal Grey which becomes a premium option. All in all along with the unknown wait and most likely the price is going to go up (maybe 2%) I had to look for other options.
My dealer has a 2006 car coming in for July delivery with most of the options I wanted and in Seal Grey which I love... and he is offering me a 7% discount. I am tempted to go for it... in fact he has held the car for me. The interior is Black/Stone Grey Interior.... I have no idea what it will look like.... any comments? With the above in mind what would you do? Go for a well spec'd 2006 or wait for a 2007?
The spec of the C4S in Seal Grey is:
2006 Carrera 4S Coupe 997 430
Y1 Seal Grey Metallic
Y1 Seal Grey Metallic Top
BK Black/Stone Grey Interior
C02 U.S. Standard/Emissions
342 Heated Front Seats
680 Bose High End Sound Package
M6A Black Mats - Porsche lettering
640 Sport Chrono Package Plus 920.00
446 Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
P01L Adaptive Sport Sts Lthr Int
670 Navigation for PCM
431 3-Spoke Str Whl Multifctn lthr
XCZ Sport Shifter
970 Bicolor Interior Instructions
XRR 19" Carrera Sport Wheel
267 Self Dimming Mirrors
The dealer will also fit a PSE as it is not on the factory spec'd car and the order cannot now be changed.
Your comments appreciated.

I have the Black/Stone Grey in my 997S and it looks great. The grey is just a touch lighter. With the dash being black there is no glare from the lighter surface areas. Everyone you sees it regreats not getting it. I have posted some pictures several weeks ago. Take a look.......

I'd go for the 2006; I believe the 2007s will be the same car but have TPMS standard. I have Seal Grey (before it became a premium option) and I love it. I think the black/stone grey interior looks great also, from pics I've seen. Maybe the dealer can do better than 7%? I'd at least ask.

Buy it. You won't regret it. I totally love my car - the difference between July and November is... too long to wait! The car seems to be optioned very nicely, and with PSE on-board, you'll have a fine summer, Haku.

im in the minority of course...
I think gray/gray is as boring as it gets....
Id say try to find a GT/Terra or Gray/Terra. Natural and cocoa are also magnificent interior choices.
When you see these cars in person, youll understand what I mean. The contrast is stunning.
You were right on point with the exotic interior. Stick to that original thought and dont settle for cookie cutter colorschemes. Show the world you are an original.
if you can find either in two tone, it looks even better with the black dash and carpets.
Call Chris at N Ohlmsted and not only can he beat that price, I bet he can find it in a day for you. (no affiliation)
just becasue your local dealer has a particular colorscheme, that doesnt mean anything in this day and age. Get on the dealer network and locate a better car. One that people say "WOW!" when they see it. Not just because its a Porsche, but because it's THE Porsche.
Draw Crowds.
In fact my local dealer has a GT/ Cocoa, (Porsche of Oakland)

My delaer has been very good and I would ethically stick with them even if a better deal was on offer elsewhere.
The C4S that I'm referring to has a black/stone grey two-tone interior and that sort of breaks the monotony of all grey.
C4S's are in very short supply and hence the long wait and lack of choice on inventory units at dealers.
The other option I have is a black/black C4S which is also available. Although black looks absolutely stunning when clean, I'm not too sure if its going to be easy to live with.
