5mm spacers from Porsche look OK (hard to really see the difference) and include longer lug bolts and locks. Boothe Design offers 6mm spacers and you can get longer lug bolts in chrome from him too. Search Coochia for some good pics of with and without spacers.

I've seen photos of these spacers on Carreras from a variety of ranges and I can't see a difference if my life depended on it.

I have yet to get a plausible explanation from anyone on Porsche's payroll who can explain that one.

So you can get better traction while entering the driveway at Walmart.

I'm using 7mm H&R spacers with Carrera Sport rims (road wheels - rear only) and lobsters (track wheels front & rear)

Definitely noticeable - helps to fill out the arch perfectly - but more for personal aesthetics really - many people don't notice fine details & probably don't care which is ok - as long as we're all happy with our own cars !

Doesn't the fraction of an inch (5mm) equate to an increase of 2.386 HP?

I have them on my 06, didn't on my 05 and can not tell the difference.

Don't know if this answers the question regarding the 997 but the June Excellence article on the GT3 says:

..."The wheels and tires fit under the same narrow-body fenders on rear wheel drive 997 Carreras, but are pushed out in the wells by five miilemeter spacers. Asked why Porsche AG didn't just make wheels that fill the wells, Motorsport Director Hartmut Kristen says that federalizing cars for Japan requuires the wheels to sit further inboard."

Go figure??!!

Have 15mm H&R spacers on rears-no issues. Could go to 18mm and still clear inner fender lip. Running P5 wheels with standard offset in rear (67). Looks much better with spacers.

That is exactly what im going to do..

Thats the look I want. Did you space the front at all? Are you using hubcentric spacers or just regualar? I know the wider you go the better it is to go hubcentric but the downside is you need a front and rear socket sometimes if the head sizes are different becasue hubcentrics have stus as opposed to holes.

Also far more expensive, about $100 a pair as opposed to $25.

Could you post a few more angles?
