I would like to add it to my car but it seems that the first cars of the 2005 model don't have the capability...you can tell because the SOS button is missing...Has anybody with an early 05 done the installation?

Well, dealer is set to go with it and I was about ready to bite but got pulled out of town on business. While on the flight out read an interesting suggestion about going with one of the Porsche dealers in mags that offers slightly above cost components to buy after market add-ons. With this setup, I am not so sure. Sounds like a fair amount of labor. And I don't want to avoid my dealer just b/c I can get it at the lowest price.

That being said, the thought did occur to me - anyone know what the dealer price really is on the GSM after market add-on? Seems like a bit of a jump from ~900-$1000 factory installed option, to a ~$1650 option plus $500 or more in labor.

I don't want to waste money here either.

Any insights on the costs and experiences of trying to order parts from out of town "low cost" dealers are definitely appreciated.

Thanks!

BTW - Did I mention I had to travel this week so I really miss my P-car!!
