Default Tow Hook License Plate Mt.

Saw this posted over on PPBB...
An interesting, novel alternative so no holes are drilled in your bumper, should you need to mount that front plate.

Hi MJ...
I wrote to Larry who designed/sells that piece and asked him about whether it would fit the 997 tow hook thread (it's made for the Boxster). He went to his local p-car dealer and was told YES. He also told me that if it did NOT fit the 997 he would give me a full refund.
I will most likely get this when inspection times comes around again. I got rejected once at a MA inspection station with my old car and had to put the damn plate on the front to get inspected! I think this is a great way to get around the drilling issue. As a permanent plate mount, I think it would look strange on a 997.

Contact Larry at Moweraxle.com. He is working on a stud of the proper length for a 997. The caymen stud is a little too long..
This is a quality product and very nicely finished..

Thanks. Will contact Larry. I saw some pictures of it on the Cayman forum. Didn't like the gap between the plate and bumper.

That's why I am working with Larry to get the proper length stud!! To short, as I found out, and you can scratch the finish of the bumper when you install!!

Here's a way to drill for plate mounting and be happy: drill up not sideways.
