Default 997 S oil temp on track

I have a 997 S which i have taken to the track on two DE events. The oil temp, which normally runs at 220 rises to 250 on the track, which seems high. Is this normal?

Normal; the oil sensors in the various cars I have tracked indicate temps up into the 300 range. Synthetic oils are still doing their job at this range. . . .

Yes, that is normal on track. Just make sure you do at least part of the cool down lap plus 2-5 minutes on idle in the paddock doesnt hurt fater each session (prevent heat soak)

You guys have oil temp readings in the 997??? Lucky bastards! I've been trying to find something to read oil temp in my 996. Most OBD readers aren't setup to read it and I have not become ambitious enough to try and installing something.

Haven't tracked the car.

Normal operation: 205 - 220 F

Hard driving: up to around 250 F

Coolant: steady 175 F under all circumstances
