Hi
I always thought that it was kind of neat that floor boards in Porsches were wood. Does the 997 still have wood floor boards?

Porsche used laminate wood panels down in the floor many years ago on 911s; on the passenger side it was what your feet rested up against (not the floor bottom) and on the driver's side it was used and was cut out around the pedals.

as Dan says, it's the part that goes around the pedals - the 993's still did - I guess mine's 9 yrs old now, not sure if the 996's did or not...

If you want wood floor boards in a new car, try a Corvette--they've got a balsa wood sandwich in the floor. Plus a Z06 is faster!
