Default 997 C2S Cab questions...

1) I'm in SoCal, what would be a reasonable offer on a brand new '06 in-stock? I know this is no honda so I am not going to be ridiculous and offer them invoice or something. So far I've read couple members that had gotten theirs for $7~8k off MSRP, does this sound right? Anyone gotten more discount?

2) Anyone has pictures of the Cocoa interior on a 997?

3) I looked up the difference between the narrow and wide bodies on paper, only 1.6 inches Is this why I am having such a hard time spotting them? On the 996, they are so obvious... I have not seen the two in person side by side but I normally like to walk into a dealership and know exactly what I am getting ahead of time.

Thanks in advance!

Unless the market in SoCal changed now that the 997 has been out for more than a year, I'd be surprised if you were able to negotiate much if any deal That certainly was the case last year in places like SoCal and New York. I ordered my '05 997S cab in Dec. 2004 and was able to get $4k off, but only by going to Cincinnati where people aren't beating down the doors to buy $95k cars. With respect to the Rennlist members who've gotten discounts, look to see where they're located before you assume you can get a similar discount where you are. My recollection is that most people from SoCal who've reported on their experiences have said the dealers insisted on MSRP. But. . . keep us posted on your experience.

in the northeast, 5-6% off would be a good deal.

Do a search for cocoa on the 997 forum and you'll find some pics. I had them, but I can't find them now.

You know,--I hate to have to agree with you. But you're right. That's what finally turned me off them. I changed my interior to natural brown. I had a beautiful brown leather years ago (painted on finish like they used to do with all colors except the vat-dyed black) and it was really nice. The Cocoa just looks a little different (not so great). I know it's very popular now.
