Default can 05 997S be had for 70k $??

i have heard on some other web sites of people buying used 05 S for 70k or less....i have seen a few at various dealerships at 75k but not selling...i am assuming a 90k msrp coupe, which seems to the average msrp, but i know there is a wide range of msrps, from 85k to 100k...is this just a winter slow down or with increasing supply are we seeing dropping prices???

There was a fellow Rennlister a couple of weeks ago selling his car for $72k. Less than 3k miles, I think it had nav/bose/adaptive...around 88k msrp. I think you'd have a tough time finding one below 70k, though

No, they all sell for only 1500 less than MSRP and any evidence otherwise is a lie.

well people are getting 4K off sticker....
so your 88K car is 84 now....

they are low prices, sure, but...

a 75k coupe, if haggled down, can be a few thousand off of that 75.
maybe they're bending the truth to impress

i think the seller left $3k on the table; great for you, bad for other sellers as that drags the resale market down that much further. i would think the cheapest anyone would/should sell their car for would be $70k and that still hurts after paying $85-90k. i suppose another way to look at it would be to consider how much you would spend if you were leasing it and then its probably not that different...oh well...

Nice deal.

If there's anybody else out there selling their 997S, no stories, no body/paint work, less than 5k miles, with options similar to maoun's car for under $70k, pm me.

tarpon1,
you have an interesting opinion, but i can't imagine it counting for that much when you don't take into account the mileage nor condition of the vehicle, about which you had not asked.

???

maoun, you scored a stellar deal for sure. Not to diminish your purchasing savvy but didn't your car have around 20K miles or so? (still a ton of car for the $$, plenty of warranty left)

good memory carbon_ted....yes, it was high (about 17.5k miles).....

i am not one to buy high mileage cars, but i won't keep it very long (two yrs max probably) and it still has more than half tread on the stock tires (aka, wasn't driven very hard)....

but yes, as backup, i purchased an extended warranty (about $2500 from primuscare)

these cars are not ferraris, they are made to driven and driven hard...17k miles is just a warm up...its finally broken in...high mileage for a porsche is 200k miles.....i see so many 1 year old 997s with 2-3k miles on them...what a shame....i will also buy a 997s with 20 k miles on it if it can be had for under 70k $..but i do think as the supply is increasing each day and prices are dropping...my local dealership had no cars instock 4 months ago and was selling for full msrp...no dickering at all...now they have 9 S carreras in front of dealership in stock and offer at least 4k off msrp...i actually think a 90 msrp car could be bought for 6-7 k off list at the end of the month.....

point taken. without further disclosure i assumed (incorrectly) given the initial inquiry and based on your post that it was clean and reasonably low mileage. as i am not in the market for a second one yet i didn't feel the necessity to delve deeper. the $67k stuck in my mind from your earlier post and i am aware of the pricing of the options you listed in this message which include full leather, nav, bose etc. given that it's 17.5k it should be further discounted. my observation was based on where the representative population of 997S seem to have been clearing. still a great buy.

I'd rather own a car that was driven than sitting in a garage. More problems arise with a car that sits for long periods of time than those that see regular usage.
