Default Anyone Got an Escort Solo S2 ?

I'm looking for a radar/laser detector and fancy the cordless Escort Solo S2. Does anyone have any experience of this model, is it any good?

Thanks

Yes I have used one exclusively, and it works great. Very responsive in all modes. BEWARE, if you put it up on the driver side visor and unlock the seatback and flip it forward it will knock the Escort off the visor. I got lucky and it hit the seatback and went straight down, no damage whatsoever. It could have whammied the PCM , CF console, etc. with bad results. I guess this applies for anything you keep clipped on the visor. Don't know if this is a problem with the Coupe but a definite with a Cab. Now I take it down after I shut off the engine.

I have one. Love it. I was using an X50 and went to the S2 in order to lose the cord. Cordless is a GREAT alternative. And the detector has worked flawlessly for me. Great capability.

I have not had any issues with it, nor the suction. I place it directly under the rear view mirror.

I have had it for over a year. Cordless is great and the battery life is pretty good too! I have owned various products of theirs for over 20years. Good stuff IMHO.

I purchased it through Sharper image, 30 day money back guarantee!! If you don't like it just bring it back.

Does it work on the visor?
I would be concerned about it clearing the rear roof.
Thanks

I have one and it works great. I purchased it on eBay for $269. It came sealed, new in the box. I have mine mounted up high right next to the rear view mirror.

Works fine. A good test is if it triggers from on oncoming trooper, does it continue to trigger a reasonable distance after he goes by, and the answer is yes. Also has triggered on many occasions on rear approaching PD.

Got one and it sucks. Has no range. Can't have range because not enough amperage in two aa batteries for the antenna to compete with amped up 12v corded versions. Better than nothing but waste of money compared to what's really necessary for range (8500 or V1). Nothing subjective about this: the more POWER amps/volts the better the range for the antenna.
