Which would you rather have?

Considering you could get an X51 now, and the gt3 and TT you would have to wait for?

Money is an object for me- I cant get an x51 now and then trade it for one of the other two - it would be too big of a hit.

I wish I knew what the price of the GT3 will be.

I expect the difference in cost for the TT to be about 20k. Would you cough up an extra 20k for the TT instead of the X51?

If the GT3 is only 10k difference, damm that would be hard to pass up I wish they would release pricing on the gt3 already.

Save the money on the x51, option it nicely so resale will be easier and wait for the Turbo S.

Depends on your intended usage, of course (i.e street vs track, daily versus weekend car)

If I could swing the $20 grand, the TT would be in my future. I'm at my limit with a 997s at a $105 grand.

According to RC on rennteam, the GT3 will list at 107k usd. Just remember a GT3 will tend to use more 'consumables' as a track oriented car, which ain't cheap. The best dual pupose car for your situation might be a 997S w/x51, they'll be alot more willing to deal when the TT/GT3 are out. You might get the x51 for 'free'. The GT3 is a great track car, not such a great daily driver 365days/yr.

I like the GT-3 and as long as it stays to form as the 996 GT-3 as i think it will that is the only "real" 911 sports car left in the line in my opinion. Don't get me wrong the others are great cars and i think they are very cool but they are GT cars not sports cars. The GT-3 reminds me of the fun and raw power of my dad 86 Carrara (what an awsome car).

C4S surgeon, what "consumables" are you talking about.
I have 20K on my 04 GT3 and the only "consumable" I've expended is rear tires.

Just the usual tires, brakes, rotors, etc on a heavily tracked car.

I drove a friends 996 GT3 on the bad roads here in NJ. Horrible ride it makes my 997S feel like a luxo car. For the track I'm sure it's a winner, but in the real world or at least in my area the roads are not the best, and with the GT3 you felt ever imperfection in the road. Not ragging on the car just my personal experience. It will shine on a race track for sure.
Personally I would go for the 997TT, but lets see what the price of that thing will be? for now my 997S is an all around blast.

GT3. True Dry Sump. 415 hp. The closest to the true Porsche spirit of the current production cars IMHO. The automotive equivalent of a scalpel.

I have already abused my poor salesman about having to get the brochure from the net before I could get it from him.

Given the pictures of the Turbo on Porsche’s website, I am not sufficiently enamored of it to step up yet. I will wait to see it in the flesh. But I think the GT3 is magnificent.

oh gosh not the "it has a dry sump " again.....

if money is an issue then you should be buying ANY new Porsche...get a deal on a used one and then buy the new one you really want when you have the money not to worry about losing your shorts on a new one!
