fabspeed muffler bypass pipes
Does anyone have experience with these. I just ordered them and I'm not 100% sure what to expect. Although I do expect loud! I would appreciate any insight.

What car 997 or 996? I had them on my 996 with EVO air box, headers and cats, 17 loud is a good description, but what 17 year old drives a 911, you won't be mistaken for a Nissan or ford but you may sound like one at the home depot, also every 17 year old from Taurus to tracer will try to race you at every light.
But the best reason to have them is on the track. my instructors liked the sound feedback from my set-up compared to stock gt3's, they have the low end grunt sound to know when your coming into a corner too conservative.
I still have my pair and would like to know if they will fit on the 997, I just have 600 miles so far and have not jumped down there to look. Also I created a custom bypass so that I could use the Turbo tips for my 02 996,
Fabspeed specific: The Fabspeed bypass tips that I have look like they are for the 01 model with the narrow pipe opening. I am not sure if they updated to the 02 tip dimensions. So If you want that whole space filled up on 02 and later I would just have a machine shop copy them from your set. (just weld it up, its a tip not a piston head) Also the angle is a standard elbow cut and welded to get that offset, and the SS is not a great grade that I had. BTW they will BLUE on you at the track, but my friend owns a polish shop and we get them looking new every time. The tips don’t have enough thermo isolation at the weld and are a sloppy bend. I was attempting to make a t304 elbow for use on 996 and 997s that could use standard tips and Sell them to all you guys, but It is just easier to tell people to talk to their local stainless machine shop. (Fabspeed sells this for about $200+, great guys don’t get me wrong, but were not talking any engineering here just metal pipe) I can give photos if you like. Another annoyance is that with the lack of weight from the muffler, they do tend to shake and rattle a little more because they lack the muffler bracing. Not been a problem for me, but just make sure you have all the necessary clearance. Also the switch back and forth can be down to almost 15 minutes when the wife really wants to got to lake forest and not sound obnoxious.

VERY Off Topic. These dogs are great German engineering, fast, sleek and strong
Here is my family, they really compliment a 911 well, and are great dogs with my nephews and others . Your pup looks very cute, very nice markings. Magnum PI had a Farrari and 2 dobs. My male is named Enzo and Female is Sophie and their both red if that counts. The Ferrari will have to wait. I want the new GT3

19 year old 997 driver! Holy cow. I wish I had one of these things at 19. How do you pay for all the extras, like aftermarket exhaust systems (I need some advice for my kids, I still have to pay for their used cars and insurence, and gas).
