When it takes you over an hour to cover 13 miles I'm not surprised you're getting poor mileage!

What an embarassment! Only 13 mph? You need to get it out of first gear!

Your computer shows 13.7 mi. driven in 1.1 hrs for a total of 13 miles.
So, now you know your car burns about 2 gal. of fuel when just sitting there idling . Lol

Take it on the highway for 20 miles and THEN see what you get .

I now have 4680 mi. on my 997 S and it shows 19.7 mpg.avg. ( which is certainly not spectacular ) I drive about 30% highway and the rest is normal road conditions with traffic lights etc. but not the HEAVY city traffic like you apparently have .

Hope this helps you .

MJones: >23mpg! Not bad!!
I'm not sure - perhaps I don't drive in a very conservative manner - but I'm lucky if I can get over 20 - 22 mpg (that too only if I am consistantly on the freeway). My average since 7/05 is 18 mpg.
Do you have a favorite gas station? I'm in the Bay Area - so probably have similar choices.

Default I just went for a drive to the Keys today

Average speed was 41 Mph and got 22 MPG. Not bad I would say....I would get 5.5 MPG on the track probably

I am up to 450 miles, and am running around 16 mpg - but I am pretty much either accelerating or coasting. Makes for a somewhat jerky ride but breaks in the motor well.
