Glenn,

Tony was also a good friend of a guy that works for me....He told me the story when he came to visit me last week in the hospital!

Very sad, especially for his little baby!

Count your blessing everyday!

Robert - Man, I just read the thread. I am very glad you are OK! Take it easy and don't try to rush the recovery period. Keep us posted on further info. Cheers!

RSS997, glad to see you're doing well. I think that the "911" call is a good omen to go out and treat yourself to a new 997 S with the X51 package when available again. As you said live each day to the fullest.

Wheeew. Glad to hear good news you're OK. Life is one thing and then all of a sudden something else. Your family is feeling extremly lucky too! We should all learn: Don't ever be shy about seeing the Dr. Don't forget to get your rear checked on a routine basis. My wife's father died of colon cancer because he refused to get his behind checked.

rss997,

Glad to see that it all worked out at the end. Things like this are a constant remind that we are so fragile and can be gone in instant, so enjoy every moment like it's your last, becuase unfortunately it could be.

Glenn,

Which leads me to Tony's tragic story. It sounds like you knew him and for that I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know him or his family but my thoughts and prayers are with them. Godspeed Tony.

Rss997, I'm glad you made it to the hospital in time. Glenn, that's a heart-wrenching website. What a sad story. I'm really sorry. I'm glad he left a great legacy behind. What more can you ask for.

I would call that family history of heart attack.

Regardless, that is a sad story and wish his family strength in their recovery.

Most people die from their heart stopping. That includes a whole list of diseases that end in "heart attack". By family history I mean early cardiac death. Not a 70+ year old smoker who died of "heart disease" or "heart problems". I must have forgotten that I was not speaking to an audience of my surgical and or medical colleagues. Thanks for the completely unneccessary post although you did redeem yourself at the end. Now go check your family history.

Sorry!! It has been a long horrific week.

There's a lot of overlap between symptoms of the flu and meningiits. Specifically high fever and bad headache. As a result I wind up doing alot of spinal taps this time of year.

Its exceptional to survive a case of bacterial meningitis that is untreated for 4 days.

You are truly lucky. You have no idea.
