Question RTFM? Fabspeed & Air Filter Installation

I took delivery of my '06 C4S two weekends ago. I now have 77 miles on my '06 C4S so it is time to start modding.

I purchased the Fabspeed intake tube and BMC F1 filter. Installation of the tube is obvious; however, I looked in the manual for the DIY instructions on how to change the air filter and unless I had serious user error I did not see it. I think I remember BD997 having installed this kit.

I feel pretty dumb about this; however, I would appreciate if someone has a link to a DIY or can talk (pics would be great) me through the steps to drop in the new filter.

Thanks much in advance.

Sincerely,

What did I waste my money on: C4S or the Fabspeed Intake?

I remember on this board saying they were pleased with this little mod.

In any case, thanks for the link but have not found DIY I wanted.

Money wasted on the Fabspeed IMHO.

The DIY shown in the link is for a 996 and the process is very similar for the 997

Easy Pugnacious, don't be so belligerent ...er, perhaps I should say don't be so true to your username. What rss997 is saying is don't be so quick to criticize or judge someone else's prerogative. We understand you're only expressing your opinion, and being a strongly stated negative one, it can be construed as a deliberate attempt to offend. I'm sure you meant no disrespect.

We all make mistakes so don't worry about it. Just try not to be so pugnacious, okay?

Yeah, that site is amazing. Definitely a wealth of knowledge there ... only wish I could find a DIY for the air filter box removal. I am going to stick my head under the boot and start turning a screwdriver when I get a chance.

Thanks.

Strange, but I turned off my ZoneAlarm Firewall and tries the DIY link and it worked fine. I must have some privacy setting that caused the problem.

Thanks. Going to put on the hose today before the wife and I take a spin and later on tonight (if all my Christmas shopping is done) I will swap the filter.

Thanks all.

Oh pug,

You remind me of myself when i first came on this forum....Keep it in your pants and calm down!

I am looking for a 95/96 993 that i can set up as my track car if you must know...I loved the 997 but would rather have a cheaper car to drive once a week and not worry about someone wrecking into me at the track....

Be sure to post pics of your 997S when you take delivery....

Oh yeah, I can vouch for that. rss997 used to manage to **** someone off at least once a week with his no-holds-barred frank comments. Glad to see he's developed some sensitivity.
