In a previous garage I used Armstrong industrial floor tiles in a black/white checkered pattern, about 1/4" thick...not the peel-and-stick variety. It required floating the floor and sealing it (done professionally...I wasn't around to watch the progress), and wasn't cheap...but they looked new seven years later with very little maintenance and a late model (read: heavy) Land Cruiser parked on them for a couple years.

I'm bumping this thread because I'm starting a project on my disgusting garage shortly and want to be able to refer to it after I get home from Lowes.

Make sure you take a "before" pic in its disgusting condition.
We know you'll take an after.

I used slate tile, and also did radiant heat into the concrete floor underneath. Also did a floor drain that runs the full length of the garage.

Why don't you do what my friend did and marble tile your garage floor. Sure it ain't cheap, but it looks real nice This guys garage is the finest I have ever seen and it's right here in NJ.

This guy had a beautiful black 911 Turbo( '87 or '88) back in the day. He's now into those little red cars from Itlay.

That is one sweet garage--kinda surprised he doesn't have a lift of some sort in it tho

Not my style but, I have to admit, I have never seen a skylight in a garage before.

By the way marble is not that expensive. About $15 a sq foot. What's the big deal?

I've done two garages, and have a new house that will be ready soon (floor trial #3).

Garage #1: Used the cheapest stuff I could find at Home Depot.
Results: Good. It never lifted, was easy to clean, but was dull grey. I want something more shiny.
READ MY OLD POST HERE - BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES INCLUDED.

Garage #2: I used the Behr garage floor paint
Results: IT SUCKS. I did all the prep work - carefully - and it lifts, etc. I don't recommend this.

Garage #3 (end of this year): Righ now my plan is to use U-Coat-It. (see post by gr8330 on page1 of this thread)

I tried the Armstrong Vinyl tile route as mentioned here and before. It was a fun project and it looks good.

After just washing it:
