Just curious if anyone has ordered with these wheels.

My order currently has the Classics on it which are very nice, simple , and easy to clean. All plusses in my opinion. The new Carrera sports are nice also and I like the wider rears with wider tires to fill out the wheel wells a little more. I also like the fact they come in GT SIlver Metallic which will look nice with my car which is also GT Silver Metallic.

Any thoughts?

Read a response on the same topic over on Rennteam about these wheels increasing understeer because of their increased width in the back. This is something I did not think about. Would this be a noticeable difference between the wheels or do you think Porsche compensates with alignment and offsets etc.?

The rear Carrera Sport wheels and tires are .5" and 10mm wider, respectively, iirc. A wider rear tire means more grip in the rear, of course, and I suppose a wee bit less oversteer. That said, I think an amateur driver would have a tough time discerning a 10mm difference in rubber width. When I went from 225/295 to 225/305, and then from 225/305 to 235/295 on a 996tt, I sure as heck couldn't tell the difference. Tire pressures would make a bigger difference than 10mm, I think.

And I don't think the factory compensates for the added rubber in the rear with different alignment. Just my view.

The factory has thought of it for sure. I actually like the lobster forks, don't know why.

I like them, too. They are different. The Classics are too - well, classic.
