Default Newbie Techart Question

As I surf the Boards, I am increasingly interested in the Techart body tuning products for the 997. Maybe you guys can help with some questions:

1. Does anyone know approximately what cost is involved for the Techart Frontspoiler I, Rearspoiler Type I (this apparently fits the OE rear apron), and Sideskirts?

2. How are these parts ordered as far as colors are concerned? Do I simply order Atlas Grey and they come perfectly matched from the Techart factory (or does a body shop need to paint after installation)?

3. How do I go about finding an installer in the Baltimore area? Any suggestions?

4. Any idea on the installation cost?

Thanks!

Try http://www.techart.de/dealers_usa.htm I bought TechArt Formula 22" wheels from CEC in Los Angeles (the TechArt westside dealer) and have essentially the same questions you do. I will ask CEC and post the results.

guys, with due respect, I am not driving to California or Florida for the install. I am in Baltimore. I've been to the Techart website and the only dealers are in FL and CA. I mean, it would be a nice road trip and all, but anyone know of anyplace a bit closer??

Those are all questions you can ask one of the TechArt dealers in California or Florida.

My guess is that the parts come unpainted, and you'll have to find a body shop near you in Owings Mills which is willing to paint the parts and install them on your car. Call your local Porsche dealer and speak to someone in parts, see if they have an idea of how much labor is involved, they could even guide you to a reputable body shop.

Umm, that sounds funny hearing TechArt and tuning in the same sentence. I wouldn't say they're highly regarded in the tuning business. I'd say they're better known for their cosmetics business.

Out of curiosity Ben (putting aside your current situtation for the moment), did you ever think about the Techart 'cosmetics' for your ride?

I'm honestly not that familiar with them. I do know I wouldn't want to attach a wing or spoiler, or any exterior body "bolt-on" mods. ... Now if they come out with a new redesigned bumper cover that has a more aggressive looking nose, I might be interested. But generally though, I prefer the stock body look. But that's just me.

Oh yeah, as for the current situation, the news is good. I took some pics but haven't uploaded them from my camera yet. I'll do that tonight when I get home. You know how everybody wants to see pics!

And you wonder how rumors start! ... Soon someone will suggest that I'm involved with a **** star and that revealing pics will soon be posted! ... No, no, no - simmer down. The current situation is the repair work on my front bumper cover. The repaint was satisfactory this time around. I'll post the after pics later.

Sheesh!
