Default RT Day 2: 777.8 mi

Day 2 on my journey was 10:40 of seat time covering 777.8 mi starting in Grants, NM, crossing the Panhandle of Texas and pretty much crossed all of Oklahoma ending up in Sallisaw, OK for the night.
Again an av speed of 74 and a pleasing MPG of 28 for the day.
AV Speed does not sound high but I assure you keeping a high average is not as easy as it seems over time, you hit a couple of 45 MPH construction zones and what you had go's ticking away. After starting out even overcoming the drive to the highway takes miles.
It's great to see range on remaining fuel after fillup at 455mi
Turned 10,000 mi as well...the car is getting old.

There was a thread a while ago complaining about how our sunvisors were too small, and to me thats bunk they work fine except when you are driving East at sunrise...thats a bitch (see photo).

GSM Cell service for the most part is great except East NM between Albuquerque and basicly the Texas border..NO BARS there nor AM or FM

Do you ever get tickets ? You keep a very high average speed and it is hard to believe that a radar detector lets you drive above the speed limit so often .

No tickets knock on wood...
All the Radar dectector does is help with situational awareness..and that is great when it brings to attention the cop sitting in the mediam hidden by tall grasses - waiting.
Our roads are junk as compaired to the Autobahn, which I drove this summer,
you just don't know where the next bad patch will appear, heavy big-rigs take their toll on the quality of our roads! Yesterday I was on a stretch of road that was more akin to a suspension test that would pound your fillings out.

Hey MJ, any difference with the engine at 10,000 miles? Watch out for the deer in the road this time. Take Care my friend.

Avg speed of 74 is pretty good, you were keeping a good pace. I've done a few cross country drives myself in my 993, M3, & 944 Turbo. The cops are definitely tricky - keep your eyes open!! I'm definitly looking forward to doing it in my next P-car, most likely a 997S. I was just offered to do the European delivery program from Mercedes even though I'm not buying one. I know someone at a dealer and since I travel to Germany a few times a year they asked if I'd pick one up for them. I guess it helps them in some way and I'll get a factory tour and use of a new car (maybe AMG?). Not a bad deal.
