I am sure this has been discussed at length here, did a search and read all I could but what are the opinions? Is it a must have option? I did a check on the incoming inventory on the PCNA dealer website and it seems 9 out of 10 S models have the option. I like some of the features but really don't like the looks of the clock on the dash. No flame intended for those with it, as it stands now my order includes it. Any comments would be appreciated from 997S owners.
Thanks.
Thanks.

As far as I'm concerned it is a MUST have option. NO matter what you think of the dash stopwatch, which in my opinion isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I happen to like it, the first thing I do after turning the car on is hitting the sport mode. For me that's what it's all about, the throttle response and tighter suspension. Even if there was a barbie doll glued to the dash I would still reccommend it. If you don't like the clock don't worry when you're going through the twisties you won't even notice it!

In my case, with my 3 y/o daughter, it is not ususual to have a Barbie doll on the dash, in addition to the wart!

I'm a first time P owner. I got my 997 the other day and it has the Chrono option with the "sport" button. You DEFINITELY want that button - the sound alone is addictive. Of course, my car also has the sport exhaust, so I'm not sure if the sound improvement is heard on cars without PSE, is it?

Sound aside, you want it! (Without PSE, there is no effect on sound.) It may also help with resale since I think it is something most people would prefer to have.

Ditto rss997 --
I got the sport chrono because the car came with it -- the sport button is key, the rest (settings) is nonsense. The factory settings for all the other stuff (lighting, wipers, etc) are fine for me. The analog style "wart" actually is growing on me and after only a short time with the car I hardly notice it at all.
