Default 2006 911 Club Coupes

July 4th Autoweek:

Porsche is partial to taking care of Porsche Club of America members, so it comes as no surprise PCA members only will be eligible to buy one of 50 special-edition 2006 911 Club Coupes built to commemorate the club’s 50th anniversary.

Distinguished visually by its Azurro California blue exterior (similar to the blue popular on Porsche 356 models 50 years ago), the 911 Club Coupe is also the first 997 equipped with an X51 power kit. The option pushes the 3.8-liter flat-six from 355 hp to 381 hp, and raises torque from 295 lb-ft to 306 lb-ft. Porsche was uncertain whether the X51 kit would be available on subsequent 2006 911s.

PCA members who are interested in buying the $99,911 car must register at porsche.com/911clubcoupe. One of the 50 cars will be given to a PCA member via a sweepstakes that ends Sept. 12.

The color is beautiful, and the power is even better.

"Porsche was uncertain whether the X51 kit would be available on subsequent 2006 911s."

I thought Porsche has already confirmed that they are available on the subsequent models.

I like the color as well. These things should be pretty quick around the track.

These would be wayyyyyy more tempting if they were CS coupes. Oh yea, light weight and a great way to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Oh well, maybe 75th.

Cheers.

The coolest thing about these cars is that one lucky PCA member will win one in a random drawing for all US and Canada PCA members who register.

Porsche is cool!
