Deciding Between 997 C2 & C2S

I am in the process of trying to decide between the C2 and C2S and my primary concern at this point is which will be better dealing with winters in the Northeast (not interested in C4). I currently drive an M3 with 19" wheels and switch to 17"s in the winter. I have seen a couple posts where people with C2S's have switched to 18's for the winter; however, the dealership I am dealing with says that Porsche does not recommend it and any problems that could arise could void the warranty. To top it all off I called the Porsche NA Customer Service line and they told me that they don't have any information on winter wheel sizes (and warranty implications) and I should talk to the dealership! Thoughts?

My tequipment brochure shows sets of 18" and 19" wheels and snow tire combos for 997 and 997S. It wont void any warranties, especially not with Porsche parts. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
