Yes, in a 997 S Cabriolet. I had the similar config in my 996 TT and still have it in my Cayenne TT. I highly recommend XM Radio Commander (the model of the XM Radio device) and the Parrot 3100 Bluetooth Handsfree. The advantage of a bluetooth handsfree system is that you can have any system phone with bluetooth and it will work. You can change your phone as often as you want and still keep the same handsfree.
With the Parrot system 3100, it has a small backlit LCD and it shows the number or name of the person calling. So you don't have to even look at your phone. Also, it's voice activated and it supports magic words like "Answer" "Hangup" "Call", etc. Fully configurable. It also has an independent phone book if you want to use, which will make it very easy to dial numbers when you are using multiple phones with different phone books.
The system's software is also upgradable with any computer which has bluetooth.
If your phone's bluetooth profile is a newer one, it will also show the network name and signal strength.
Pretty good!

Did you do the installation yourself? Does the Parrot system operate through your car speakers? Where is the Parrot CK3100 installed in your car? How about the mic? Some pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I will post pictures by the end of the day.
- I installed together with a friend
- Parrot system uses both front car speakers and car amplifier
- Parrot CK3100 is behind the glove box
- Mic is behind the steering wheel, a picture will explain this better

Also how you accessed back of PCM would be a great help. Photos will be a help, too.

I'd really like to know how you tapped into the MOST system to allow the Parrot to play thru the door speakers....I've had 3 of the previous Parrot systems.....Very good, and the tech support out of France is first class as well......If you used aftermarket connectors to make this happen, could you list them....You do have a 997 ?......I've heard that you can go thru the right hand door speaker (I thought that this required an activation by the pwiws Porsche computer)...

Here are some pictures:
And again yes, it's a 997 S Cabriolet.
You don't need to tap in to the MOST system, you just connect it between the AMP and the Speakers (splice the cables).

So what happens when both the Bose radio and the XM radio are on at the same time (as in your picture)? And does the Sound adjust (Bass, Treble, etc) work on the XM output?
No offense, but it just doesn't look good to me. I'm NOT a fan of the Bose system in my car (my BMW Harmon Kardon sounds 10X better) but I won't hack up my interior to get a better radio.

Which wires did you splice into? Where did you make these splices?
What is the source you used for 12VDC and ground for power source? Where are these points in your installation?
Any additional details you can provide with be very much appreciated.

The XM radio is tied in to the FM antenna with an FM modulator which is included in XM Commander's package. So, that's why you see PCM with FM 87.7 on, which actually is XM. You can adjust that via XM's menu. Think of it as advanced iTrip for Apple Ipod. Instead of wireless FM transmitter iTrip, XM is hardwired to the FM antenna.
Also, it's a matter of priority. I generally look on the road not to the inside of the car when I'm driving and I hate the commercials on regular FM channels. So for me, it's an acceptable comprimise. For the Parrot, it might look ugly as well, but it's safer to use something like that when driving. I had these on many of my cars, I can't live without these anymore. Now, when Porsche puts bluetooth handsfree and XM radio in PCM, I won't have to do this. So, it's not done for better radio, it's done for many more reasons, but most importantly reasons which are important to ME. Btw, no offence taken Gary.
For the technical details of Parrot installation, I should have taken photos during the installation, sorry. It's too technical for me to explain via plain text. But I called Parrot's head office in France and got directions from them. I would have to post Parrot wiring diagrams to explain how it's connected.
