Doing a x-country run later this month and it will be interesting to see if performance is improved with the intigrated unit vs handheld.
Nada instructions on delivery. I have a feeling it was the first time they saw a 997S with the integrated GSM phone module. I have to say that I have become addicted to the handsfree functionality...

Oops...I think I made a mistaken response to your question...You've got PM.

I thought you meant a salesperson going over the function of PCM during delivery. I DID get a huge manual on the operation of all the PCM functions including the telephone...

Default adding 666

has anyone had any success in having option 666 installed after delivery? secondly, am i correct in that there is a separate porsche cellular solution package that allows one to use their cell phone through the pcm system? thanks.

I take it from all this that I'm SOL on this with a Pre-SOS button/pre-drawer 997s?

ultimate - not positive, but I'm pretty sure they can retrofit the cell phone capability, which requires a new surround on the instrument cluster including the SIM card drawer. One of these days I'll find out in detail as it is still tempting to have my 997S retrofitted.

Sorry for bringing up and old topic, but I am close to ording a 997S Cab, and I am a gadgety kind of guy so I am interetsed in the 666 Option. I wanted to know if more people have picked this option and how much of a hassle it was to get it to work. My dealer has absoultely no clue about this, and is pushing a blue-tooth solution (but it would not integrate with the PCM). I have a Razr with the sim card so I assume that it should work with the car (I am still not clear about the 32 vs 64 bit thing or ENS business. Also the dealer states that they have not ordered any cars with this option so they would not be able to help me out after. It seems that it is best to get as a factory option though maybe pricy, I do not want to 'gamble' if there is still some controvesy on getting this to work (unless there are Cayanne users that have been successful?) Any new thoughts, feedback, opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

It's the best mobile phone I have ever used. Very powerful (8W I believe), very clear transmissions, great with the multi-function steering wheel. I highly recommend getting it. Do another search for this topic. There's more discussion to read about.
