Congrats...that's my biggest bone to pick with the 997 - the anemic engine sound. I may have to check it out myself.

BD - take a deep breath now... ahhhhhh.

Before you jump on the Fabspeed wagon (and I agree - they are great) why not wait and see what GHL (Rennlist sponsor!) comes out with? To be honest I like the Fabspeed header design better than the 996 GHL collector but not sure what the 997 will look like. Of course buy the one you prefer regardless of Rennlist affiliation, I know I will.

Just tryin to save you from another order/uh-oh/cancel thingie!

Ordered my Fabspeed cold air kit last night. I've been good for too long since getting the 997S, now the slippery slope is eating at me!

I have a call into GHL to see if they're even planning to make a cold air intake for the 997. I couldn't find one for any earlier models.

Do I understand a 11.8 HP gain and a more racy sound?

Have you taken the mesh out? What is it for? Haven't you been concerned of getting away with it?

avelino - I think at one point it was recommended to take the MAF filter out, but now Fabspeed's website states "DO NOT remove- MAF mass airflow plastic screen on your 997 & 997"S". Leave the screen installed on your 997."

Wish I could open my engine hatch and install my kit!

My first thought after opening the box today - damn they must be making a mint on these hoses! Their dynos show some increase, but that might be snake oil. If it just sounds good, I'll be happy. Now to get my hatch cover open!

BTW, the instructions have crossed out the former instruction to remove the MAF grill. I think for 996's you could remove it, but in a 997 that must mess up the computer.

MJones - congrats - I'll be looking for your Guards Red 997S around town in a week or so!

Tks Jim, I hope that you have opened your engine hatch by now and tried the kit already. I saw the remark that you mentioned above in their website, but I also saw the movie very carefully and in it they clearly say that you should take the screen out "in exchange for more horsepower". What do they say in the instructions? How was your live experience? I must confess that I have also ordered the kit....but it will take some time to arrive in Brazil.
