I'll pay a handsome sum for info leading to the deactivation of the stupid seat belt warning in my 997....It drives me crazy!!!

If I stop to pick up the mail around the corner I should not have to be treated like a 2nd grader by Porsche...............

How can you stop the madness?

I can't remember the exact statistic, but something like X% of all fatalities occur within Y miles of the home.

What's the big deal with putting on your seatbelt for 2 minutes? If it's that much of an effort drive a Cadillac with the colostomy bag option.

Order a seatbelt from the parts department. They will think your nuts but it works.

Take the wires on the seatbelt buckle, and bridge em. tricks the car into thinking the seatbelt is plugged in.

Where's my handsome sum? j/k

Better yet, fly me out there, let me fix it for ya, and lemme drive your car!

Just plug the one you bought and voila no more beeping. It is always a good idea to buckle up. You never know what is round the corner.

I always buckle up for sure! If I stop in the parking lot at work to speak with a friend at another office and then decide to drive in the parking lot to my office (100 yards) not on the street...

A: If I get killed by a soccer mom going 10 miles an hour, I deserve to die.
B:I should not have to hear that thing blaring in my ear...

If I stop to get the mail at the end of my cul-de-sac and drive down my street I doubt a kid on his skateboard will hurt me even if I was driving with my head out the sunroof.

It is just another stupid lawsuit I am sure that caused them to do this....My 996 did not do that...........

Thanks for the advice!

The 996 GT3 does this also and so does my S4, it can get on your nerves at times.

Why not drink and drive as well, and hey... remember to use your mobile and smoke at the same time, and don't forget to preen yourself in the mirror.

Doesn't the seatbelt warning chime stop clanging if you just engage the hand brake? It won't help if you want to drive without your seatbelt, but it will if you need to stop and idle.

No, seriously, my way will work. it'll never clang or peep or beep or whatever the f*cking sound is... seriously, try it. if it doesn't work, say the wire fell out and get a new one under warrantee...
