GT and Natural Brown with subtle carbon and aluminum touches.
With some dough to burn... darken the natural brown slightly... this and a tan ragtop for the cab.
All of the Silvers are nice in thier own way, I like Arctic the best for the 996 cars, the CGT looks great in GT Silver, thats my first choice for now.
"Arctic" silver is named that way because there is a bit of gold in the mix to give it that low-sun high latitude tundra plains " warm glow " when compared to the slightly darker but more reflective metallic " GT" silver .Head farther north to the icy " Polar " region and you get THAT silver with it's pronounced bluish cast. If you want that very bright , whiter " aluminum "- like silver as on MBZs, you need to special order Porsche's " Diamond " silver.
It really is a personal preference. Both are classic Porsche colors. This is my 2nd Artic Silver Porsche...I think on a sunny day a clean and waxed Artic gleams more than a GT.
I think this is really a personal preference issue. I was all set to order a GT silver when I went and looked at an Artic and GT side by side at a dealership, both new and washed (996 not 997). I thought the GT looked duller compared to the arctic. I am sure it is just that the Arctic is brighter, but the GT looked a little dirty (sitting next to arctic). I looked at both on their own and though they both looked great, because of the side by side I opted for the Arctic.
GT silver has bigger sparkles. The flecks of metallic silver are bigger than those in the arctic silver. The total effect is minimal except when you get your nose really close to the paintjob. My own conclusion? If adding another $3000 to the cost of the car isn't a big deal go for it. It is not a "must have" option by any stretch of the imagination.
Yes, I think you are right. I was fortunate enough to see a CGT next to an Arctic Silver car. In the showroom, if I had to pick one, not knowing which, I would have chosen the GT silver over the AS.
