Default Estimated built date for 997

I just placed order for new 997S and put the deposite down. I was told by the dealer probable built date will be in May and delivery date in June . Does this sound right? I thought wait time was only 2-3 months. I live in Illinois but dealer is located in Ohio. I am debating whether to shop around to find earlier built date.

Did you call Napleton Westmont Porsche? I put a deposit on October 2004. My 997S was built in early Jan and is currently "onvesl" with an estimated delivery by the end of January...a 3 1/2 month wait. Give Maciej a call. He's a good guy and straight shooter...

In my search for my 997 I came across 2 997S's that the buyer walked from...I think you can find one out there to buy now if you try hard enough...

I'm down for early April build of a 997S with late May delivery. I'm working with a Chicago metro dealer. That dealer also has a number of 997S's in stock, just not to my spec sadly.

Napelton told me (a few weeks ago) that they had a slot open for an April build. You should definitely check the local dealer websites for 997S stock and call each of them to see what the earliest build slot would be. You never know!

It all has to do with the dealer's allocations...
Their allocations are baised upon how many cars that they sell, that said
Allocations have been pretty minimal at least for my dealer in CA, and there are little to no "S" cars around to be had on the lots.
Sit back and enjoy being a WAITER! and get the car configured as you want.

I am getting mine this weekend after ordering in Sept. The wait is har but belive me it is worth it. I went and saw it last night all wraped up and man am I happy I ordered and didn't take the launch car. It just wasn't optioned the way I wanted it. Order what you want an wait it out in the end it is worth it and you will be happy you did.
