Default 997S was completed

Sales guy just shot me a e-mail that my car was completed today!!! Do you guys know how long it takes from the system telling you car completed until it starts to swim? Thanks for all the input you guys have given me on this process. Only reward I can offer is pics when I pick it up and a solid review!!

Congrats! My car completed production on approx. 11/23, landed in Baltimore on Monday and was at my dealership either yesterday or today (I just saw it all wrapped up in the parking lot)

The speed at which your car arrives is also contingent on the availability of a boat. Porsche's hitch a ride with VW and Audi's, so your car may have to wait a day or two at the port in Germany to be loaded on the ship. Rest assured, your wait is almost over....

So do they have boats running every week? Or could my car be at the ports for the next two weeks?

12 days or so on the water (depending on conditions and which port your arrival is. Could be up to 7 days or so before it's on a boat.

Expect 3 days at port for PDI and customs, then transport to your dealer. If you're lucky, you might have the car first week of January.

Do you think with Christmass 8 days away there will be a delay in it getting it on a boat?

As long as the dockworkers in Germany are not on strike, they will load and load and load until the boats are full. Doubt there is much delay other than a couple of days max.

My dealer told me that while my car is built it didn't get out of the factory before they closed for the holidays. Does anyone know when they start shipping again?
