Default Hidden Radar Dector

I have to decide witch radar detector to install in my new 997 S. It is going to be installed into the dash board so it's as hidden as possible. However the question comes down to witch one. K-40 or the Valentine Radar with the k-40 laser jammer. My dealer ship charges me about 1800 for the k-40 with defuser or 2400 for the Valentine with the defuser. Obviously 1800 sounds better then 2400 but was wondering if anyone out there has experiences good or bad with the current models of these two radar detectors.

Have the K-40, cost $2000 install at the dealer. Havent had another ticket since. This includes at least 3 drive by radar traps at over 90, never stopped.

Is that for the front and rear diffuser? I paid 3k for the V1 in the mirror and the k40 front diffuser.

What happens if the highway patrol waits till you are right up on them to take a reading .... I see a lot of highway patrol sitting with their radar off and wait till you are only a few feet from them and then get their reading ..

Both those quotes are for front and rear defusers. However the v1 price doesn't include the etch in the mirror as I would prefer the light pods in the dash. Has anyone had trhe defusers hidden in the bumpers as opposed to that ugly bulky licence plate attachment?

Could you explain exactly what this setup involves? The K40 is designed to be integrated into the vehicle, but as far as I know, there is no way to mount the V1 receiver itself other than sticking it on the windshield, dashboard, sun visor, etc. The unit is $400...are they charging $2,000 to wire in the "concealed display"?

I might need to get more info on this now.... I was told that the v1 could be intergrated with the light pods into the dash for that price. I could be wrong and may have misunderstood him. I am leaning towards the k-40 anyway unless there are real reasons not to get it.

the $2000 dealer install for the K40 is completely concealed in the dash only see what looks like stock lights no one would know it was there very pro. Makes above setup look like a cheap joke, sorry no disrespect Gregg

Perhaps, but an ugly V1 unit suction cupped to the windshield is more effective in avoiding tickets than the K40 (not to mention a lot less expensive)...and that's the whole point, at least as far as I'm concerned.
