They absolutely shine for any maintenance where you need to constantly raise and lower the car. Literally seconds to raise and lower, as opposed to at least 10-15 mins each time you want to do it if the car is on jack stands.

I've had mine for over 10 years, one hose fitting had a leak at year 9 but otherwise it's been perfectly reliable and has serviced 7 different cars so far!

So it seems the profile is low enough that they even fit under lowered 997s?

I bought the 6000TLX during the last sale in February to fit my other cars and I love it.

It's too tight on the 997 to use without propping up the front wheels first but it can be done.

QJ has mounts that are designed to hang on the wall. Two 3" long screws into studs for each mount. They are plenty strong enough, it's just awkward to actually get the lifts up there, even if it is only lifting them about 2 inches off the ground to catch the hook.

Watch out the 6000 length. It may be too long for the 997 wheelbase.

I just lifgt them up horizontally against the garage wall (90°). I find it much more of a struggle to pull them out from under the car than to slide them in sideways. It certainly depends on the garage and how often you use it. My 997 is -30mm, and I’d feel a bit uneasy driving over them in the middle...

The trick to hanging them on the wall is to ensure the jacks are making contact with the floor and the hangers are mainly just keeping them upright.

There is the option to be sent an email when a jack goes on sale. I assume they go on sale with some frequency, can others in the know chime in? Thx.

I have the 6000s and they fit fine. No issue at all.

oh yes, this is necessary. Any chance the larger SUV version works on a 997? Ive got a couple SUVs and it would be cool for this to work on this as well!

I am thinking a set of QJs is on my short list as we have a stable of 5 vehicles with two being P-Cars and my wife has a nasty horse habit that makes Air Cooled seem like cheap fun so I need to be able to handle some basic maintenance myself like oil changes, tire rotations, basic brake and suspension items etc. Especially on the 997 and 924 as paying $500 for an oil change is straight silly.

I have the space for a full lift with 14' high walls in my Morton Building but I don't want to deal with that right now and for $1500-2000 this feels like it could pay me back in a couple years between the various vehicles.

For those rocking the base QJ 6000, is there a specific adapter you use or need to lift the 997 at the lift points?

Thanks

I did the 5000TL a couple years ago. They've worked well on a couple 997 variants and a G-series Targa. I leave them on the ground pushed together and park on top of them. Plenty of clearance under the Turbo and Targa, and a snug fit under the GT3.

My only regret was not getting them sooner.

There are puck adapters you can get that fit it in hole of the lift points, but I've been using the short (2 inches?) rubber blocks that come with the lifts.
