I was always gunshy about buying aftermarket wheels... my buddy purchased Tire Rack wheels for his BMW 5 years ago... they ALL BENT! We took the car to a wheel shop in Delaware and the tech didn't even ask us... he immediatly said they are bent and made from cheap Tiawanese steel... "got em at Tire Rack eh?" He said he sees these all the time.

Not sure what’s the point of your post? The stock wheels are cast, and I am not even sure they are low pressure casted given how heavy they are. Casting and forging technology from 20 years ago is not the same as what we can get nowadays.

OE wheels aren’t the only ones with proper wheel loading certifications, TUV, VIA, JWL, etc. There are several great aftermarket options out there these days that aren’t outrageously priced. Apex is one of them.

If I may ask, what WB wheel did you have your 997.1?

I have been considering selling my stock sport design wheels off my 997.1 C2s. I can send some photos if interested.

That sizing would be 4mm to aggressive we typically use 19x11 +55

But if you don't mind a slight poke and are up to lowering the car and adjusting the camber you can make it work.

I effectively run ET 51 on a 997.1 C2S. Its with PASM, no lowering, no camber adjustments. They are "decent" aftermarket, being OZ Leggera with ET65, and a 14 mm spacer.

No poking whatsoever, no rubbing, etc. Works like a charm. I would not be afraid of ET 51 on a .1 C2S ...
