Default Favorite Tires?

This article made me think. What are everyone’s favorite tires for street and daily driving? Considerations?

PS4s or Conti extreme sport 02's for street. I haven't spent any time on track (yet) but heard cup2's are one of the better ones.

This is good to hear. I'm seriously considering these for my next set; probably through Discount Tire.

Just finished off a set of GMax on my Boxster. Great dry grip and unbelievable in heavy rain.
I do intend to try the Contis on the 911 though when the Michelins wear out. They seem noisy and don't ride that well.

@ER17 I ran Continental Sport Contacts for a while, the best longevity I could manage was 16k miles on the rears before the inner sidewall was worn to the cords. Wet/dry performance was never an issue but they were unbelievably loud. Michelin PS4S has been my go-to ever since.

Nitto Invos are my favorites. Run them on 2 997s, 2 928s and a 944 S2

2009 C2S 203K miles

I buy only Michelin any more. For me, the N rated PS2s are what I like the most given the stiffer sidewall and sharp turning. Others rave about the PS 4S, I have owned two sets and frankly, hate them. They are mooshy when turning although they last longer than the PS2s. BTW, my opinion appears to be in the minority here.

Plenty on these forums on tires.

I moved from PS2's to PS4S about 5 years ago and have found the PS4S to win in every category over the PS2's as well as other brands. I have had bad experiences on many cars in the past with Pirelli tires and swore I would never use them again. However about 4 months ago I bought a 718 GTS and it had P Zeros on it. I have to be honest and tell you these tires have out-performed all of my expectations. Dry adhesion, Wet adhesion, Tire wear, Handing characteristics, Tire noise, all very good. This is based on mostly VERY spirited driving in the mountains and back roads of Arkansas and Missouri in many different weather situations and some track time. So now I have the PS4S on my 997.2 and the P Zeros on my GTS but I now have a different view of the P Zeros and may just keep them on the GTS and the PS4S on the 997.2. Either way going forward they are now both in the conversation when I need to replace. YMMV

Just had a set of falken azenis installed. So far quite impressed. Seems like a good value proposition.

Goodyear Supercar3, but I’m in Los Angeles and almost never need to worry about heavy rain or snow. I just send it on borderline track tires all year long.

Went from Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 to the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 and really pleased with the upgrade.
