Default Renn Part motor mounts

I wanted something a little more firm than oem and didn't want the overkill ones or want to spend 500 bucks. Discovered the 964rs mounts fit but not much research or application in a 997.2.

Very pleased I put them in this morning and everything is one tight unit moving together now. The dates on my originals were 09 and you don't realize how bad something is until its fixed.

No notable NVH and everything just seems better. It feels a tad more raw but in a great way. Acceleration is night and day tighter and more responsive. Turning and braking too are all firm. But shifting is the winner, all goes forward as one now, feels like a new car.

I guess this is the shout for Aaron at Renn Part. Great customer service, and sent all the correct parts quickly. The hardware needs to be longer in our case. Couldn't be more pleased with everything.

It's modular like most of the aftermarket ones. The mount gets sandwiched between two large diameter conical washers that touch the rubber and heavy fender washers on either side of the conicals... theres a central bolt that goes through the whole thing and a stover nut fastens underneath the car. The central bolt for a 997 is a little longer than a 964. I think thats what he said. I just drove it again 6k rpm and everything, def more alive but real smooth. It feels good, the reason i picked it was it was a factory part for a production car, not some aftermarket racing one where most get 50/50 reviews and some even uninstalled.

I will most likely be ordering a set myself in the near future.

Is the metal casing just raw steel (magnet stick to it) or galvanized or aluminum? If raw steel, they'll rust with water exposure and time which won't look very nice.

I have ERO ones on my .2 C2s 6sp man. I'm on my second set now, they dont last long because the non aircooled motors are heavier than the originals.

only about 20,000 km

From a PCNA technical doc. 911 (993)

I think the original 964rs ones were magnesium and the aftermarket uro I have is aluminum. I heard they may last a little shorter but the original ones usually don't get more than 4 years right? A lot of us took out the center mufflers so thats a tad less weight i guess.
