Default Solve my mystery: extra wires connected to PASM connector

Hello all,

I finally picked up my second 997 (wish i didn’t sell my first)

it came with a DSC controller so I just removed it to tune on my computer.

What surprised me is seeing 3 different wire taps on the existing PASM wire harness
they are on the:Black/white wire

Black wire with orange

Yellow with white

anyone have any clue why these wires are tapped and what they may be for?

thank you for your help

is it a 997.1? ...and if so, are those wires for the 3 axis controller? @Tom TPC Racing would know for sure.

Possibly that, but you also need to connect the accelerometer to the canbus - that may be in the center console. I prefer installing the accelerometer in the rear by the DME since it's closer to the polar moment of inertia of the car, but it's more work.

If you disconnect the positive wire from that tap and the suspension goes full stiff or you get a PASM error, you'll know for sure.
