Default Recaro Bankruptcy

https://www.thedrive.com/news/tech/recaro-files-for-bankruptcy-four-years-after-being-sold-to-private-equity

been on the fence about some sportsters for the 997 for a couple months now. Wonder how this will impact availability in the short term.

As a RECARO retailer, I believe it will not affect anything in the states. Almost all RECARO operations in the US are are essentially autonomous vs. RECARO Europe, same with RECARO Japan. So considering the bankruptcy is being filled in Germany, and not here in the US where the private equity firm made their RECARO purchase 4 years ago... I don't see the connection the article is making.

If you were to order a pair of Sportster CS seats from us a RECARO retailer, everything would be made in the USA, Michigan specifically, so even if the Kirchheim, Germany facility were to close, it wouldn't affect anything over here.

Sadly......"As for BBS, the wheel firm behind a selection of iconic manufacturer partnerships – as well as the exclusive provider of wheels to Formula One – announced its insolvency on Friday 26 July, after reports the company failed to pay some of its 270 employees in Germany. BBS has now been placed into administration."

Not good...these are premium brands that I particularly like.

Not the first BK for BBS. (the third).

I will research it, but believe they, as well as Recaro, are majority owned by Porsche AG or the VW Group.
Covid and Ukraine were brutal on companies whom were bound by strong worker protection rights.

In the USA, a Chapter 7 filing can, and has, unilaterally cut pay rates and benefits for the corporation workers- despite a valid and binding contract.
Was in the airline biz for 35 years and saw the code used to decimate once solvent companies which were either LBO’d into massive debt, or criminally mismanaged
by ridiculous executive compensation, shell companies that siphoned cash flow to the corporate raiders and performed massive stock buybacks that benefited the BOD
and shareholders causing mortal consequences to the company itself and especially the employees.

The leverage buyout is the reason the closing of a supplier in Europe has nothing to do with what happens in the US. Two separate companies essentially.

EVERYTHING is for sale in a capitalist country.
Even the politicians in office.

Fixed that for you

As a certain US ex-president said “Go woke, go broke”. Germany has rather shot itself in the foot, and put huge financial pressures onto its manufacturing base as a result.

Well, my country's sovereign wealth arm Mumtalakat are financing OMP which in turn bought over Bell helmets.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are lining up an acquisition move for OMP.
Having owned McLaren, I think they are gonna make a move for these two companies. Let's not forget, that BBS had a factory here in bahrain in the late 80's up to the mid 2000's.

That certain US ex-president is, as usual, clueless. And most definitely for sale.

Germany's economy is ranked amongst the strongest on the globe (#3). Like the US, which contrary to every claim made at his inane rallies, IS the strongest.
