Default High Pressre Fuel Pump on Backorder?

Shop has my car for two weeks. I asked for an update and was told Porsche says the HPFP is on backorder. Does anyone know how I can confirm this?
Thanks

Plenty of recent threads here and on FB about HPFP backorders and being hard to get for some, not for others. So yes, there's stories of shortages for this component if that's the confirmation you're seeking.

See for yourself... go to any parts supplier website and check them out. FCP Euro... Pellican... and then check dealer websites. Get the part number and start scouring the internet. If you find one, buy it right away and provide it to your indy. You can try the UK too.

Download the Porsche parts catalog here: https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...artscatalogue/

Thanks. Figures. Last summer I spent getting the bugs worked out of my 99 Boxster. Got them worked out about two months ago and my brother made me the offer I couldnt refuse on his manual 09 S and I sold the boxster. Guess I wont be driving the 911 this summer. AARGH!

Local dealer gave me a different part number. Says he can get me a new one for less than a remanufactured one in less than a week. I gave the shop the link. https://www.gaudinporscheparts.com/o...mp-9a111031507

Just had mine replaced on my 997.2. Part arrived in 2 days. Service advisor said there are about 50 of them in stock with Porsche in Atlanta

That's the new number. The number Gaudin has for 1,240. I left a message for the shop that I would order and pay for it and get it to them.

A friend of mine has been looking for one for his 997.2 Turbo and there are literally none on the planet.
His car has been down for over a month because of it.
It's a different model than the one you noted...

If you don't mind me asking - were there any symptoms before the HPFP died, such as clacking noises?
I have this suspicion my HPFP is intermittently noisy so I have been seeking data points, cheers.

Honestly, I would make sure I had the correct part number before I ordered. Asking here for a number is fine, but I recommend confirming everything. There can be nuances in our cars that result in slightly different parts. I check three sources.... the first place I go to is the Porsche parts catalog I noted above... it includes codes for differences and such. Then a dealer's website, and then Pelican and or FCP Euro.

When my HPFP failed, it was classic.... just popped a dash light and put itself into "reduced power" mode or something like that.

Peace

The car was delivered to me in CO from NY. It takes a lot longer to start than my 99 Boxster, or any of the Caymans I had. I thought it was the car. I got reduced power a few times. Shut it off, turned key back on and popped the clutch and light was gone. I figured it was getting used to the altitude. Took it to the track and on the third lap I got a few warnings, and reduced power. Code said HPFP. I read up and realized I had a lot of those symptoms. I expect it to turn over a lot quicker now.

Delaware Porsche has it for 1,193. I got it from Las Vegas - Gaudin for 1,240. I forgot to do the final google for price. Here is what it fits.
