Default Fidelity Platinum Warranty and Service in Dallas for 997

I am thinking about buying a 997.2 that still has an active Fidelity warranty on it.

Hoping someone knows a good shop in Dallas area that accepts Fidelity warranties and does good work.

Thanks in advance.

When I am in Dallas, I use the dealership in Plano. A couple of older techs that have been around P-cars for decades. Ask for Scotty, service advisor & request that Cliff look at the car; 50+ years turning the wrenches on Porsche.

Do Fidelity warranties cover complete engine rebuilds??
Why do they have terrible Consumer Affairs 65% poor reviews?

not sure, the seller has some records on the car where fidelity picked all of an expensive repair. I'm ok with Fidelity just need to find a shop.

Those #s aren't worth it to me. We've owned my wife's 997.1 since 2013 and from 40k miles to the current 112k miles so 11 years and 72k miles and I haven't spent anywhere near that $13k under the 6 year term with $500 deductible (cheapest option) even including wear items like brakes, plugs, coils, etc that I doubt the warranty covers anyway. Maybe I've spent $2,000 in repairing it other than wear items.

You'd be better off putting that $13k in an investment account and in 6 years when the warranty expires taken out the $25k and put it toward your next car.

like I said, these recent Fidelity quotes for a 997 seem bananas. In threads just a year or two old, others were reporting quotes at ~half these figures.

meanwhile, there are a few other providers that seem to have decent experiences for some, which are still at ~half these fidelity figures - each of course with their own suite of *asterisks* regarding coverage.

im a noob and know not what I speak, but almost seems possible Fidelity has lumped all 997s together (.1, .2) and now has some accumulated data on handfuls of .1 worst case scenarios (eg IMS/bor scoring) - and inflation hasn’t helped any.

one way or the other, these Fidelity quotes seem bananas

Can you ask the seller what dealer he purchased the warranty through? It appears that Fidelity warranties can only be purchased through participating dealers and they would honor the plan/warranty.
The other option would be to reach out to Fidelity and get a list of participating dealers in the Dallas area and then poll the Rennlist membership for their thoughts on those shops.
... Just a couple of thoughts to try and answer your original question.

Hope this helps,
Bill

I've seen the paperwork and he paid half of those numbers. FWIW McDonalds where I live is now double the price it was a few years ago. I don't go anymore.

Fidelity would likely provide the least expensive repair shops and not the best. I'm hoping there's someone out there that has had good experiences in getting both Fidelity to come through and getting solid work done. Goal is to make this 997 my forever car. Seller is from another area.

If you have 7 cars, it makes sense to invest in the tools and time to do your own work. Reality is, I am not a wrencher and in this case, the car comes with the warranty already. For me it's just an insurance policy and a window to get the car sorted out. Just need to find a good shop local to me.

I found a Fidelity plan last week through the thread the guy posted above, also here: https://factoryprotect.ratessys.com
a 997.2 TTS was cheaper than those printouts that I saw above. Bennet Motor Works in Dallas mentioned to me that they prefer Fidelity and service those; they have good experience working with Fidelty to get stuff done.

Fidelity Warranty's have huge number of consumer complaints. Why would anyone buy one??
Anyone here with actual experience dealing with them or trying to settle a claim?
