Default Door cards? Those with customized interiors.

Hey folks, like the title says... anyone customized their interior including their door cards?
I'm considering re-upholstering my interior leather, but need ideas on what can be done with the door cards.

Thanks in advance.

It can be done, but it’s a pain. The door is one unit “plastic welded” together. Once it’s apart you have to cut the plastic “rivets” of the insert, but after that they can be reaffixed with tapping screws.

I am finishing up one door card. I did black leather on top with charcoal gray alacantara sewn below for contrast. I did a gray flat felt seam instead of the usual french seam for a different look. Compartment door lid and door pull are stock l leather. I left the speaker grills stock and I will probably keep the door spear stock.

I replaced my door spears. What I found worked perfect was using a soldering iron. It easily melted the plastic rivet for removal. Then I remelted the new spear once it was all aligned. Just need to be sure you are putting pressure on it so it stays flush.

I added the matching 911r pepita to my door panels which were full leather to start. As others have said it’s a pain but it really finished the interiors in my opinion

not to thread high jack, but wondering if your seat are leather back and how did you go about getting the seats done? This threads helps since I’m planning on doing my interior and I didn’t think of the door cards.

no, that’s about the only thing left to cover in leather are my seat backs. I debated doing it but decided against it because I actually use my backseats occasionally and they do get kicked and thought the leather would get beat up quickly. I have my door-sills in leather and they are pretty tough to keep from getting beat up as well

the door cards can be done by any good upholstery shop it just takes time and patience from what my shop said

Funny, you want leather seat back, I’m contemplating removing them if I use the OEM seats (have Recaros Pole position sitting around). Worried that it may not match the seats after I get them done.

Door cards I feel pretty confident on doing them myself, done them before just didn’t cross my mind.

Is your dash interior trim black or carbon fiber? Better pictures?

Look like adaptives? Shoulder winglets plus buttons on the side.

Yeah. Definitely making me think about doing my door cards to match the pepita seats.
