I've mentioned this in the past, occasionally these Manual Transmissions have issues. They seem to be very rare and random internal problems.
The Manual Transmission in my 2006 C4 was replaced by Porsche Dealer when it had 30,000 miles on it - Now 107,300 miles and smooth as silk.
There have been a couple of other owners over the years who have also mentioned their Transmissions were replaced.

I've now done it both ways. It's easy to unbolt the slave cylinder, easier to unbolt the slave cylinder vs unbolting the clutch feed line with the fluid mess. But I struggled for nearly 30 minutes with every prytool and weird tool in my tool chest to get that slave cylinder reinstalled when the transmission goes back in. Although the clutch line will be a bit messy, you won't struggle with putting it on. Keep a couple rags and some brake clean nearby.

Glad I can help someone. The information out there on this subject is slim to none. One day these cars will be "historic" and people will need to work on them.
Trans is pulled out and I've already disassembled the shafts. Just working on getting access to 6th gear. Unfortunately, I can only make progress on the weekends, but I do my video editing during the week. The dog teeth on 6th gear are worn, a bit chipped. I have video of everything that I'll be uploading. Here is when I pulled the shafts out after heating the case with a map gas torch...
