If you're open to it - in roughly the same price range this upcoming car is likely to be a much better car than either the 996 or 997.1 above:

Thanks, but I am specifically looking for a 4S and full leather in a color other than red or yellow.

Market value is market value. If they bought it for what they thought was a bargain or a good bit below market value, why wouldn't they try to sell it for $60k and see what they can get for it. No used car dealer is in business to lose money so they buy low and sell higher - that's the whole premise the business is built on. Do I want a funny color green 996 for $60k - nope. Don't really want any 996 for any money - maybe I'd but a 2S for my son if it was $15k, but not even sure I'd do that. You have to love walking away and looking back at your cars - that just doesn't happen with the 996.

Yeah this is all moot as RF increased the price from 50k to 60k. I’m no longer considering the 996.

Well, sounds like the OP made up his mind and we might just see him around the 997 forums more often. For what you stated that you were after, seems like the 997 is the perfect fit. Congrats!! Hope the transaction goes smoothly. Post up when you get her home.

Of course they're in their right - the least some could do is a nominal bit of value add, sort the car or be less conspicuous about the immediacy of the flip. But dealers gonna deal.

"You have to love walking away and looking back at your cars - that just doesn't happen with the 996". I've found that almost everyone turns and looks at a 996 4s rear end. Might not be a better looking 911 from behind.

I would say the 991.2 GT3T rear is as pretty, but your point is made.

I saw a comment from him on BaT when someone suggested the same thing. His response was that they take the car in, bring all the maintenance up to date, fix any imperfections, etc. and sell the car. So supposedly they do add some value. Take it for what it’s worth. When I was in the hunt I was a little annoyed by his dealership because he could obviously find good examples, make sure they were top notch and sell for a profit that was outside of my budget. Not his fault, but I was upset that I couldn’t find the cars he could and get them at the price he was likely paying before relisting them at top of the market pricing. Like you said, dealers gonna deal.

997 all day everyday and I owned a 996...Also I really don't like the 996. I feel like if you go the 996 route you'll regret it!

I don't care for any view of the 996!

Says the guy with the purple 911!
