If you're open to it - in roughly the same price range this upcoming car is likely to be a much better car than either the 996 or 997.1 above:

Market value is market value. If they bought it for what they thought was a bargain or a good bit below market value, why wouldn't they try to sell it for $60k and see what they can get for it. No used car dealer is in business to lose money so they buy low and sell higher - that's the whole premise the business is built on. Do I want a funny color green 996 for $60k - nope. Don't really want any 996 for any money - maybe I'd but a 2S for my son if it was $15k, but not even sure I'd do that. You have to love walking away and looking back at your cars - that just doesn't happen with the 996.

Yeah this is all moot as RF increased the price from 50k to 60k. I’m no longer considering the 996.

Well, sounds like the OP made up his mind and we might just see him around the 997 forums more often. For what you stated that you were after, seems like the 997 is the perfect fit. Congrats!! Hope the transaction goes smoothly. Post up when you get her home.

"You have to love walking away and looking back at your cars - that just doesn't happen with the 996". I've found that almost everyone turns and looks at a 996 4s rear end. Might not be a better looking 911 from behind.
